Techead Systems
Park Square Makati

I asked for an estimate on a home PC where I could play games, watch movies and do basic work. Here's the computer he set up for me...

-he recommended this because its the newest model and that way i wouldnt need to upgrade

Asus P5G2-mx
-he said this motherboard goes with the processor

1 GB Memory 533
-he said this would be faster

128 MB PCI-EX ACLE Video Card
-this size would be enough for gaming and watching movies

80 GB Hard Disk Drive
-so i can store movies and other things

Casing with 500W
-just the basic tower

LCD Monitor 19"
-he said this size would be ideal to watch movies and play games on the PC

DLink Modem
-standard modem

Samsung DVD/RW Burner
-so i can burn movies

-the transformer in case of blackouts

TOTAL: Php 37,200
(set deal)

My Slight Obsession with Wine

All wines shown are Rioja. The best *bodegas* in the region have their wines up here. I prefer my *tinto *ANYDAY, whether hot or cold weather. I do enjoy the occasional cava and sparkling rose…White's just not my thing.

You also have to appreciate the beauty of a bottle of wine. How every sip is differs slightly. How the first taste is completely different from the last. I have my own way of drinking wine which a lot of people don't feel is the right way. I like to take a sip of the wine when it first comes out of the bottle. No spinning, no aeration, just fresh out of the bottle. Then I spin it, smell it and take another sip. The next taste will be a bit later. I let it breathe and let the flavors expand. Then I just drink and enjoy. Note, I only do this with reds… and whites when I so happen to drink a white.

At the hotel our maitre d a.k.a. our sommelier told me that if I truly want to appreciate wine I have to drink as much as I can (I don't mind…) AND not drink any other alcohol. That's a toughy… hmm… I'll try that one out. I mean I do enjoy wine the most out of all alcohols. Thing is its hard to resist a dirty martini… and *panache*… and a vodka sprite… ooh, tequila…

Note to self: Look up *alcoholic*

That's all.

Torture at the Zenit

Originally uploaded by jess_armas.

So… my enslavement is almost over at the hotel and its about time. They really are taking advantage of me but ya, they have all the right. Internships always sound bad and all about filing papers and doing meaningless tasks but I was lucky enough to have done the work I have. Lucky may not exactly be the right word but I have it better off in my opinion. Completely contradicting myself? I know. I arrived the first day for ameeting with the director a.k.a. GM and he asked me to work that very same day. The next day he leaves me alone for around 30 minutes. I know that sounds like nothing but I wasn't prepared! My Spanish still needed some
brushing up and they hadn't taught me anything yet. I just pretty much watched the day before. So ya, stressful but an experience nonetheless.
I've pretty much stayed at the front desk for most of my time at the hotel with the exception of waitressing at the banquets. Now that's stressful work. I didn't know I had certain muscles in my arm and hands until they hurt the day after. So, I've done service at school but never 60 people on my own. Imagine how many trips I had to make if I can only carry 3 plates, well 4 if you want your garnish on the side, and it's a 5 course meal. That's 100 trips! But ya, I really respect servers and will NEVER bitch if my food comes late during a banquet.
This photo is of me after me clearing, hence the mess, the banquet hall.
Finally allowed let my hair down.

Note to self: Buy smudge proof eyeliner.

That's all.

Extinction of Small Business'

So here's a pic of my tia's store in Logrono... I dont know exactly how you would call her store but lets just say it has all things a housewife purchases aside from food. Detergent, thread, underwear, make-up and mops… I passed by the other day to help out and I realized how beautiful it is. Its dusty and cramped but it has a peaceful aura to it. Like nothing changed since the days I would pass by as a 5 year old after school (or was it nursery?).

I started to think on whether or not it ever made money. I mean, she hardly goes to the store. When she does, its just to talk to her friends. And the people I do see buying things, just buy a thimble or a bra. But they spend a lot more time talking and gossiping. Its worse than church! Hehe…

I also saw that her prices were higher than other chain markets. So imagine the competition she has… But a large store with fluorescent lights and crowds cant compare to the homely feeling of my tia's store. I wouldn't mind paying an extra €.65 for a sweet smile and a warm conversation.

Note to self: Ask tia to check expiry dates.

That's all.

Marques de Riscal

Marques de Riscal

Spent the weekend in Ollauri with my cousins... He gives tours on quads at Marques de Riscal and around the area. Through vineyards and to visit wineries... I've been dying to see it and finally have... I wasn't able to go around inside too much but loved the area... The city is Elciego and is surrounded by vineyards and fields and fields of grapevines... Beautiful. I drove at a top speed of 85kph on the quad in the rural highway... I LOVED IT! hihi...

Note to self: Must buy a quad. Forget golfcarts.

That's all.

Let's just say it didn't turn out quite the same but I think it turned out
